- EYESAFE is a text file from the U.S. Department of Labor (OSHA Fact
- Sheet No. OSHA 92-35). This text details OSHA's "Eye Protection in
- the Workplace" rules. As the text says, "Every day an estimated 1,000
- eye injuries occur in American workplaces. The financial cost of
- these injuries is enormous--more than $300 million per year in lost
- production time, medical expenses, and workers compensation. No
- dollar figure can adequately reflect the personal toll these accidents
- take on the injured workers." This file tells some of the common
- causes of eye injuries in the workplace and some ways to avoid them.
- Interesting, and just like it was when I was working as a chemist
- (they were sticklers for Eye Protection).
